Can I accept credit cards directly on my website?

You have 3 choices for accepting credit cards on your website.

1. Use a third party processor such as PayPal to accept credit cards. PayPal is free to join and you only pay a small transaction fee each time you make a sale. With is option, your customers are transferred to the PayPal site to pay for their items and are returned to your site after making the payment.

2. Get an Internet Merchant account from your bank and process credit card transactions in real-time. With this option, the customer enters their credit card details on your site and their credit card is validated and debited in real-time. For Australian customers, we recommend ANZ eGate merchant accounts for affordability and ease of integration. If you use an Australian merchant bank account other than ANZ, you will also need an eway gateway account. For US merchant accounts, we recommend Authorize.net. A secure SSL certificate is required to encrypt the credit card data being sent from your site. An SSL certificate costs $149.95 per year.
